Grand Marais, Grand Marais Harbor Poster by Rich Sladek (frame not included)
Grand Marais, Grand Marais Harbor poster print by Graphic Designer Rich Sladek.
Grand Marais is 110 miles northeast of Duluth and 38 miles southwest of the Canada-US border. As you travel on North Shore Scenic Drive (Hwy. 61), you will encounter the Sawtooth Mountains, waterfalls and rocky cliffs along the way to this city in Cook County, Minnesota. Surrounded by natural beauty, Grand Marais has unique lodging, restaurants, shops and galleries all harbor-side on Lake Superior. It had a population of 1,351 at the 2010 census and the community is known for its rich arts culture. Grand Marais Harbor is protected by Artist’s Point, a barrier island formed by lava that was connected to the mainland by gravel deposited by lake currents. The Gunflint Trail begins in Grand Marais and is the gateway to the Boundary Waters.
Inspired by vintage-style travel/national park posters of the 1930’s, Rich is working on a collection of original graphic poster art illustration showcasing current and historical Lake Minnetonka and beyond.
